Over the next four weeks we will enter into a dialogue of compassion and wisdom with the world through focusing on the Four Immeasurables: Love, Compassion, Joy and Equanimity. The Four Immeasurables come from the Buddhist practice and provide a meditative opportunity to reorient our state of being.
Immeasurable Love
Practicing immeasurable love involves learning to experience loving-kindness, which in the Buddhist literature is defined as a pure love, a love that we can generate for all beings. Meditating on loving-kindness helps us to have a natural response of love in our day-to-day experiences. When we continue to practice this we find ourselves wanting others to be happy.
