“The Jesus I follow is not the light-skinned, permed — bad permed — Michelangelo-looking guy hanging on my grandmama’s wall” but rather “the dark-skinned, Palestinian Jew who was born in the hood,” Pastor Mike McBride said during the 2016 Festival of Faiths. In this session, he reminds us of the identity, humanity and trials of Jesus, and also identifies the effects of implicit bias that keep people from understanding and embracing the Black Lives Matter movement.
