We would like to extend a heartfelt welcome to Bishop Shelton Fabre, whom Pope Francis has named as the next Archbishop of Louisville. It is with great excitement that we look forward to this next chapter in our city’s faith community and we are eager to continue working alongside the Archdiocese of Louisville in carrying out our mission of “Many Faiths. One Heart. Common Action.”
Also, we want to thank Archbishop Joseph E. Kurtz for supporting our efforts to foster interfaith understanding, cooperation and action, and we wish him well in his retirement.
The Center for Interfaith Relations has a long history of meaningful collaboration with the Archdiocese of Louisville. This relationship took root in our original role as the Cathedral Heritage Foundation back in 1985, when we set out to restore the historic Cathedral of the Assumption located in the spiritual heart of the city.
Since our organization was founded by the Most Rev. Thomas C. Kelly, we have valued a fruitful relationship with the archdiocese — and we anticipate many more years of working together to enrich our community.
