St. Andrew UCC will offer educational programs concerning the three Abrahamic faith traditions in February.

Monday, February 5th, 5:30-7:00pm

Dr. Marcia Segal, Professor Emerita, U of L, will present “Finding Today’s Women in the Ancient Texts and Rituals of Judaism”.  Dr. Segal will identify the factors that have been used to define women’s places. Then, she will identify those core elements in the saga of the Jewish People which focus attention on the quest for wholeness that lies at the heart of each of our religious traditions.

This program will be followed in the spring by programs focusing on the quest for wholeness among Islamic women and Christian women.  Dates to be forthcoming.

Monday, February 12th, 5:30-7:00pm

Dr. Saleem Seyal, will present a program on Islamic calligraphy.  Following his lecture, Dr. Seyal will oversee the audience members trying their own hand at calligraphy.
