“It doesn’t mean that peace isn’t an act of virtue, and it doesn’t mean that nonviolence is passive shunning of the world,” Archbishop Joseph Kurtz said during the 2016 Festival of Faiths. In this session, the archbishop highlights five elements of peace and nonviolence, with his last point being, “You and I are responsible to promote peace not only in our own hearts, but also with one another, as neighbor and as nation upon nation. In that effort, the key is the understanding of human dignity.”
